Ke Alaula, the Dawn of a New Day

Beginning Moments with our new Executive Director

Ke Alaula, the dawn of a new day, has been a symbol of new birth, awakening and hope. As with many before me, the need to spread the love of Jesus Christ with our beloved island homes in the Pacific has been a journey.

From the early beginnings of Henry 'Ōpūkahaiʻa`s relentless desire to share the good news to Queen Kaʻahumanuʻs symbolic warm extension of welcome to Reverend Hiram Bingham upon the breaking of the kapu system, our founder Clara Brewster Bingham and her 152-year legacy of the Womanʻs Board of Missions for the Pacific Islands is to be remembered.

Continuing Clara Bingham's desire to spread Jesus' love through education, competence and community for women, children and family in Hawai'i and the Pacific Islands remains at the heart of our focus.

Our Founder

Our first president, Clara Brewster Bingham, was the daughter-in-law of pioneer missionaries to Hawai'i Reverand Hiram and Sybil Bingham.  She also was a missionary to the Gilbert Islands.

Desiring to find a teacher to teach the Gospel and Christian curriculum to the mission station in Micronesia, Annette Palmer answered the call after a 13-year long search to help Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders

Renew Yourself

Ephesians 4:24 Take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces His character in you.
